Farmyard Manure

Does anyone have any idea what we should pay our farmer neighbour for some well rotted farmyard manure? He let us barrow 30+ loads down to our veg plot but neither of us has any idea what a good price to pay would be.

We give our farmer friend a bottle of wine for what he can carry in the skip/container (can't remember the technical word) on the front of his tractor. He always seems pleased with that.

MUCH better to give him a reciprocal gift than to try to pay for it. Makes for a better relationship.

Thanks for the suggestions. We had already agreed that money would change hands - our farmer friend was quite happy with that. In the end we gave him 20 euros and a bottle of home-made sloe gin. He seemed pretty happy!
