Bathroom Regulations for Lighting

Hello.. What are the bathroom regulations for lighting... Can class 1 lighting be used in bathrooms, or is it only class 2 (double insulated?).

Firstly apologies for the lateness of the reply (the post approval process didn't flag this post until after the upgrade so it was missed).

You do need to use use a fitting with an appropriate IP rating for the location, or zone, where it will be placed. The nearer the fitting is to a water source like a shower or bath the higher the rating needs to be. This can range from IP67 for use in Zone 0 (immersed in water like inside a bathtub) to there being no required rating for lights far away in a large bathroom (although IP20 or more is still recommended).

These zones (volumes) have just been updated in the newest rules. You can see an example of the new zones here

Anything you fit inside zone 2 or less should be Class II.
