Colours: yellow/green = earth; brown / red / black (switched)= live; blue = neutral. Other colours for switching purposes: orange and purple. Yellow and green: forbidden.

Be careful with wiring from before the seventies: red = neutral; green = live; grey or white = earth.

Introduction to the French language, from the French electrical code:

Couleurs des conducteurs:
Phase: toutes couleurs sauf bleu clair, vert, jaune, bicolore vert et jaune,
Neutre: bleu clair,
Protection: bicolore vert et jaune.

For a reference in English, see this Wiki summary of the IEC conventions (PRC also one of the member states).
