PV Solar Panels

Does anyone know of the equivalent of the Feed In Tariff currently available to residents in the UK who have photovoltaics fitted to their roofs. Also does anyone know what the FIT in France is? Currently in the UK the energy companies pay you 41.3p/kWh just for generating electricity and another 3p if you export it to the grid.

Ricardo,

There is one website here in France you should consult, with the not so surprising name of photovoltaique.info.And this is the official EDF information. The love affair is cooling a bit: prices go down every year as you can see. And the overall picture: cloudy. Read this article in le Nouvel Observateur of december last year. And to counter speculation the French government decided that there will be a 3 month standstill period: no new contracts. One exception: production capacity of less than 3 kW. This is the content of the official décret of december 9 2010.

Thank you Robert for the update in France. It would seem that the popularity of PV panels there has caused the current situation.

And starting the first of january next year prices go down every year: multiplication factor: 0,9. More details in annex number 1 of the official Arrêté du 12 janvier 2011.

Updates, again. Consuel reminds us of the new regulations. As from september 13 you'll have to send in a dossier technique new style. To get your attestation, and with more emphasis on the technical inspection by the client before inviting Consuel for a visit, to prevent a contre visite. There are two documents ready for download on the website of Consuel: dossier SC 134-2 and dossier SC 132-3.

It's the same old song: prices going down for your home produced electricity. Since the first of October EDF pays now minus 4,5% for le petit résidentiel, minus 9,5% for installations intermédiares and minus 2,5% for the electrons originating from the large scale producers. Pacta sunt servandi: existing contracts are, or should be, rock-solid for twenty years. The new tariffs are for new applications for network connection: ...au tarif en vigueur à la date de la demande déposée auprès du distributeur. ...
