Christmas Day Weather
by Dave • Sat 26 Dec 2015 11:00

It's been pretty nice all week, but yesterday (Christmas Day) was the best so far - it was topping out at a little under 20 degrees C and without a cloud in the sky. We ate outside in the afternoon. The night was also great with a large full moon that lit the countryside up almost like daylight and we walked around the garden at about 22h30 in the moonlight without the need for a torch.

December is often surprisingly mild but this year it's been even more so.

Sunny again today so we'll be off for a boxing day walk around the hills which sounds a lot less trouble than the sales.

The rain held off for a bit longer where we are but it's arrived, but its still freakishly mild.

Up to now, anyhow, it's been weirdly warmer in Felletin than here on the California coast.....our fire season has ended, and our flood season has begun....no one complains about the rain, since we're cautiously optimistic that our historic drought will be favorably impacted by the storms. But we're expecting prolonged power outages and highway washouts.
