How many of the Châteaux in the Creuse have you been in?

A gold star for the first person to name them all (the ones that you can visit at least one day each year).

HI all

We have visited three -

Chateau Boussac - we were lucky enough to have a personal tour just for the four of us, although it sped up quite quickly as lunchtime approached! It was really interesting especially the kitchen and guard room and the guide made lots of effort for us to enjoy the tour with our limited french.

We visited the Ruins at Crozant on a boiling hot day and were amazed by all the lovely butterflies. The views were fantastic and afterwards we hired kayaks from the Hotel (de lac?) and had a leisurely quiet time on the water.

Chateau Villemonteix we visited on a really cold October day with my elderly mum and aunt. The chateau is beautiful and in such a lovely location. We did struggle with the tour as obviously it was in french and very detailed and although I understood quite a bit the others didn't but they have some great tapestries and the owner was really helpful.

I would recommend a visit to all three and we will explore the rest on our next visit. :)

There is a printed guide for English-speaking visitors which is now given out at Villemonteix when you go round. You have to give it back when you leave.
