We've inherited a TV plus a receiver/dish for English channel but can't seem to get french channels. Do we need to get a receiver for French TV or do we just unplug the English box?
thanks

Welcome to the forum

your sat dish is pointing at sat to receive english channels so that is all you will get. Do you have a tv package with your telephone (assuming you have a line)

If it is a French tv, not too old, it has a built-in decoder for the (free) TNT signals. But not all decoders are equal: the digitally encoded TNT tv signals are now in HD format, so only rather new tv sets or separate adaptateurs are capable of receiving these French tv signals. Goes for around thirty euros. An indoor or outdoor tv antenna to pick up the signal.
