Here are 10 French phrases that are useful in everyday life that you probably don't know.

1. Tu ne l'emporteras pas au paradis.
You'll soon be smiling on the other side of your face (you won't take it to heaven).

2. Mets-y un peu d'huile de coude.
Give it some elbow grease.

3. Creuse-toi un peu la tête.
Rack your brains a little (Dig your head a little).

4. Appuie sur le champignon.
Step on it (Press on the mushroom).

5. Je dois vider mon sac.
I have to get something off my chest (I've got to empty my bag).

6. Il n'y avait pas un chat dehors.
There wasn't a soul outside (There wasn't a cat outside).

7. Ils ont une fièvre de cheval.
They have a very high fever (They have a horse fever).

8. J'ai des fourmis dans les jambes.
I have pins and needles in my legs (I have ants in my legs).

9. Ne gaspille pas ta salive.
Save your breath. (Don't waste your saliva).

10. J'ai du pain sur la planche.
I've got a lot on my plate (I have some bread on the board).

Here's a new phrase that's fitting for the Creuse:

Oh my god! (Oh, the cow!).
