Does anyone know where to get keys cut near Gueret??

There's the shoe repair stall inside carrefour that does keys, etc.

Most cordonniers do make keys, but if your key is a bit exotic (perhaps from a UK padlock, or an old French lock) you may have to go farther afield. I once had to go to the sous-sol of the BHV in Paris to get a key for an ancient French persienne. Closer to Creuse, the Roi de la Clé, in Clermont-Ferrand, has (or used to have) a pretty good selection of key blanks.
