Re: New harsher Traffic Controls

by TournesolKate • Sat 14 May 2011 10:39

All seems fair to me. I do try to stay within the speed limit at all times. If I go over the limit, it's because I'm not paying attention and I deserve to get caught for that.
Out of interest, what's an alcho-lock?

You bring your dog?! 8O
Oh my goodness, how does he find flying? Does he have to stay on his own in the hold?
Bon voyage, the weather here is beautiful.

Re: Where to buy Frontline

by TournesolKate • Sat 26 Mar 2011 06:17

Thanks for the info peeps. Let the battle of the ticks commence!

Re Virtdave, you absolutely can NOT use dog flea treatment on cats. The ingredients are not the same and the formula is way too strong. There are specific dog and cat treatments for a reason.

Where to buy Frontline

by TournesolKate • Wed 23 Mar 2011 18:10

Anybody know of a website where I can buy Frontline for cats from the UK and have it posted over here?
It's cheaper from the UK.

There is hope! I saw (and heard) a small flock of Grues flying over Ahun this morning.

Re: Deterring foxes?

by TournesolKate • Thu 17 Feb 2011 18:50

Well, the pee pee seems to have done the trick! Not mine though, it's a bit easier for my other half to go relieving himself about the garden than it is for me! Virtdave, Fantastic Mr. Fox certainly did make it over here, it's based on the Roald Dahl book, which was one of my favourites as a child. ...

Re: Selling a house

by TournesolKate • Mon 31 Jan 2011 16:55

No, usually the estate agent fees are included in the sale of the house, so the buyer pays all the fees.

I think that some internet agencies ask for "advertising fees" but this is not the same.

Re: Delay in Visit So Bought New Puppy

You have my sympathies, puppies are such hard work, but they're so worth it in the end.

Re: Deterring foxes?

by TournesolKate • Mon 31 Jan 2011 08:41

Do you know, I had a vague memory of hearing that before , but I wasn't sure if I had imagined it!

Worth a try I suppose, I was planning to get my hair cut this week anyway.

Thank you.

Re: Deterring foxes?

by TournesolKate • Sun 30 Jan 2011 19:28

Well, that might work for getting rid of one fox. But I live in the countryside, surrounded by forests (as most of us do here in Creuse) and I would prefer to deter all the foxes from my very traumatised chookies. Plus, I have two cats and I know that the hunters around here don't need any encourage...

Deterring foxes?

by TournesolKate • Sun 30 Jan 2011 13:52

I just rescued one of my chickens from the jaws of hungry fox. She has a broken toe and is in a bit of shock, but seems to be relatively unharmed. (I hope) I did have the chickens wandering free around the garden, but since the fox attack this morning, I put up a fence round the side of the house an...

Although, now I understand a joke some work colleagues were making about another colleague, so thanks for that!

Re: A cat called Sparta

by TournesolKate • Fri 24 Dec 2010 08:01

Thank you for the Mean Kitty Song! Made me smile.
Creusebear, I love Simon's cat, I've seen them all, they are so clever and remind me of every cat I've ever known.
Have you seen the new Christmas video?

Life would be so much duller without cats. :D

Re: La Poste, Ahun

by TournesolKate • Sun 19 Dec 2010 18:59

I think there are two men who work at Ahun La Poste, one is polite and helpful, the other is not. It's not just my opinion, other people have said the same (French people). Jarnages is a bit far away for me, Aubusson is much easier and it's just down the road from work. Might be a useful tip for oth...

La Poste, Ahun

by TournesolKate • Sat 18 Dec 2010 18:13

Just a word of warning to anybody sending last minute Christmas parcels to the UK. Last week I went to La Poste, Ahun to post a christmas parcel. It was a box of books and weighed 2.9 kilos. The man behind the counter first of all told me it wasn't wrapped up properly (it was!), then weighed it and ...

Why don't you buy an artificial one? Then you don't have to worry about cutting down any trees at all!
Jardiland have some lovely ones... they have real trees too.
