by amandaandclint • Sat 22 Mar 2008 16:31

Hi As some may already know, there has been a slight miss-hap at Limoges airport and the runway is currently closed. We currently have guests who are supposed to be returning to the UK tomorrow and we are trying to find out if the runway will be back up and running tomorrow. The Ryanair hotline just...

Nice one

Thanks Annik, I just didn't want to be one of those people who drives up to the shop, parks the car, gets out with the shopping bags, walk up to the shop door and realise its closed... and then pretend that you knew it was closed (so that anyone watching doesn't think you're daft)

Re: Impending doom for Chambre d'Hote

by amandaandclint • Fri 21 Mar 2008 16:25

I think its quite acceptable to have all B&Bs registered as businesses. When we registered last year we were told by the chambre of commerce that the authorities had already started doing spot checks in Creuse and that any unregistered B&B serving drinks (tea, coffee or wine etc) would be fined on t...

Re: Van Hire

by amandaandclint • Sat 08 Mar 2008 14:38

Hi This info may be a little out of date as its all from 2007 but regarding van hire from the Uk, you could look at a couple of companies: 1) Enterprise rent a car/van. These do allow vehicles to leave the UK and go to European countries. I think you have to provide proof that you will not be using ...

Re: What are you really good at and what can't you do?

by amandaandclint • Thu 06 Mar 2008 11:47

Morning Well I am shocking at spelling...and English in general really (I always have to rely on Amanda checking my letters or the American Spell checker on Word) Uni didn't change anything either as I chose a course that was predominantly art (graphic design/webdesign etc)... ... so, after 4...

Morning Brian Having read your last post I will firstly apologise if I offended and am grateful that you have taken a step back and viewed this subject from both sides. I agree with the TV and the Music - there will always be an influence in this media. My opinion is that there are some great people...

Re: Thank heaven we speak English

by amandaandclint • Wed 05 Mar 2008 10:46

Don't you think you are being slightly stereotypical with your last post Brian? I'm soon to reach the grand old age of 32 and I still wear a baseball cap on a daily basis and may not speak the Queens English quite as well as others... and I'm from the north (far far away from London Town). I don't k...

by amandaandclint • Mon 03 Mar 2008 21:06

Hi All Thought I would put a quick update of what happened in the end since the first posting about this. Well, after a few letter to their head office and a few uncomfortable visits back at the Gouzon branch, we finally got a letter from them saying they would credit us 36 euros (which was better t...

Re: tree removal

by amandaandclint • Sun 24 Feb 2008 09:55

Hi Plantboy If its a large-ish tree then go and see your local wood/log seller/farmer. The guy we use (down our road) offers to cut down large trees for free if he is allowed to take the wood away too... I guess he then makes his money selling it on at a latter date and it saves you a bit of cash to...

tap dancing mice....

do they have top-hats and canes too?

I was told once by an old gent in the UK that you get one of three things...

mice, cockroaches or rats.

is that true?

Im glad that we have the mice in our barns and not the others. :D

Re: Mole News

by amandaandclint • Sun 13 Jan 2008 11:33

Hi All I've been doing a bit of research as some of you may have heard that we suffer from the odd mole or two. The vibration devices dont work so I would recommend not using them. Moles - on average- eat 10 - 12 worms per day. The vibrations attract the worms (a bit like when worms come to the surf...
