Hi there, When we removed the lino from our landing, the floorboards below were and still are, covered in a white powdery filler/plaster. We've cleaned much of it off, but the stuff just won't go away and is stuck in the grain. I guess it was a leveller before the lino went down or something to fill...

I've been checking the weather almost daily since we were last in Creuse in early June. Please can everyone make sure the weather remains gorgeous until we return in mid October.
Very much obliged

Hi there, Which newspapers or other media would you recommend for the Limousin? I am trying to better my French by attempting to read Le Monde for national news (but I often resort to google translate) but I'd like to get a sense of what the news is more locally, particularly whilst I'm in the UK. T...

Felletin is lovely to while away a few hours. Lovely architecture and the Tourist office has a selection of short walks to take, 50cents each I think. Nice pizza place too in the main square.
Don't know anything about the train journey though.

We bought out house 6 months ago now, roughly in the area you are describing between Bourganeuf and Aubusson and though we are not there full time yet it has lived up to our dreams so far, quiet, gentle and friendly. We spent 2 years looking for our house and estate agents frequently took us to see ...

Hi Freezer Bill,
I've bought a few plants from the nursery in Pontarion too, it's lovely and the plants are so well looked after and the staff very helpful.
Our garden is a blank canvas so it's been a pleasure to work on, so far!

Thank you Creusebear for this useful information. We are intending to the same in October so you've just saved me a lot of work finding a nursery. We have a great one here in Dorset, also family run and trees in beautiful condition, so I wondered where I would find the same in Creuse. Happy Planting...

Hi there, Does anyone know if there are any weekend/holiday clubs for children that are farming/forestry/countryside orientated - in the Bourganeuf area (although we're willing to travel)? Forest and farming clubs are all the rage here in South West UK, so just putting feelers out for anything simil...

We're just about to begin buying bits and pieces of furniture. Does anyone know if you can bargain a bit on Bon Coin? Some things seem much better value than others.

That's a great list, thanks for posting. I hadn't realised there were so many - I've only been to the Bourganeuf one and seen the Pontarion castle from the road. We'll be over in May for our first proper stay at the house so castle spotting will be on list of things to do too when we need a break fr...
