They are open to the public. They are just as you come in to Châtelus Malvaleix on the Guéret-La Châtre road. Not sure of their opening hours as they differ with the seasons as they are only a small group of people who run it. Sure a quick call or email would sort that out. Found their prices the sa...

There is a vet in Jarnages telephone 05 55 80 98 33. Just on the right as you leave Jarnages. OK for worming etc but certainly would not recommend them for any other treatment. They are a group practice and have a main office at Chenerailles and a satellite one at Châtelus Malvaleix.

You must have been unlucky. Fortunately I have not had any of those calls. In fact my cold calls have reduced considerably recently. Must be my "polite" manner with them  . I too was under the impression that it was the law. I am sure if you had to claim on assurance and you did not have th...

Not yet. Guéret is a cauchemar at the moment with route barrée everywhere, trying to avoid going there unless really necessary and the Chinatown Chinese at Châteauxroux burnt to the ground a few days ago.

Certainly is a canicule. Depending on where you are located it varies between 30 and 40C. Although its not so much the heat but the humidity. You melt doing absolutely nothing. Still set to carry on for another week apparently at least. Some of my plants have burnt. C'est la vie, too hot, too cold o...

There was a guy at Chenerailles a couple of years ago who tried to set up a golf society but I don't know if it ever happened. He played golf at Gouzon. Not sure where your closest golf club would be. I might be able to find his telephone number to ask if you want?

I tried searching for the actual rules but the only thing I could find on a French forum was that it increased your tax fonciere if it was more than 20m2. However, if you look at the extract below, my interpretation is that it has to be of a more permanent structure, which I don't think a polytunnel...

There certainly are more deer south of Aubusson. I go down that way for events sometimes and hate driving back at 2 or 3 in the morning through the woods. Always a bit too much wildlife ready to leap in front of the car. I regard myself as an Anglais Berrichonne. I wish I could win the Lotto and mov...

Amazing how similar all the villages are in the Creuse. Similar styles of houses; sometimes difficult to discern which village from a pic. Never feel at home south of the N145 though. For me there is a different ambiance in the La Châtre area. Hard to explain but I suppose its a case of where your h...

They are definitely everywhere in the Creuse and do a lot of damage. Friends had to shoot some dozen or more that were completely destroying their large pond a few years ago.

With the amount of dogs and pups that are in rescues its a shame you could not consider one of those. Its heartbreaking to see so many dogs locked up and who are often pedigrees that people do not understand how to look after. I would like to see heavier regulation on breeders personally.

I would be extremely surprised if it snowed this year in May. Weather is weather these days; totally unpredictable and I noticed the USA has sufferered pretty awful weather this winter.
I follow these on You Tube and find it extremely interesting.

They are a bit thin on the ground but have you tried here http://reptilvar.free.fr/centre.htm Covers the Creuse: Centre "La Loutre" Contact : H. MACHET - 87430 VERNEUIL SUR VIENNE Tél : 05.55.48.03.04 The site is quite good for info on all types of wildlife but I have never needed to get in touch wi...

Keep it going Dave! We have just spent a week opening up, digging up more brambles, having a coffee with our neighbours and looking over their new extension and generally marvelling in the wonderful 'Creuse' light and unbelievably blue sky. Need to find a way to share these delights with a wider au...

I have to say its a shame more people do not use this one. It is the only one that does not generally get the sarcasm that appears on the others. For me, I am not really a forum person, and although I live in the Creuse and like the area and my neighbours etc, it would suit me much more to live near...

Looking at this forum, French Entree and Anglo Info recently, I have noticed there are very few people that visit them; just the odd few "hardcore" that have been there for years. Do you think they are dying out and as people integrate in to French communities they do not feel the need to visit site...
