by Steve • Thu 20 Nov 2014 19:05

Does anyone have experience or advice on how I can go about getting my carte grise changed to a carte grise de collection ? A few years ago I imported my UK registered Morris Minor to France. It has been registered with a normal carte grise . Is there an application form to complete and submit to Gu...

Re: Travelling to the Creuse

Press release 18th Oct 2012 Euroferries announces the launch of it’s 2013 express cross channel service between Ramsgate and Boulogne to commence in February 2013. I know there has been some speculation in the past about the Ramsgate route. Hopefully, a new operator will provide more competition. T...

Is there anybody else out there? Besides Sistergin and us, are there any other gay men or lesbians from the UK who are living (part or full time) in Creuse?

We use the Boussac branch, located just off the market place. The staff are all really friendly and there are at least two members of staff who speak fairly good English.

Re: A roofer in the north

by Steve • Sun 26 Jul 2009 11:38

Does anyone know of a roofer in the far north east (Boussac)? I am here for the next 2 weeks and want to get a quote sorted out as soon as I can. I have tried emailing some of the builders listed on this site, but so far, not one has replied or phoned.

Thanks

Steven

Re: Classic car registration in France?

by Steve • Mon 16 Mar 2009 18:41

Hi I have been considering bringing over our 1957 Morris Minor to live permanently in France (a) because it's fairly reliable (b) not a great deal I can't fix on it and (c) if it sits in our barn over the winter and the battery goes flat it will start on the crank handle instead! I had initially tal...

Re: Landline Telephone

Hi Alex Having not tried to get connected to the internet myself I cannot give you a definite answer, however, when you eventually do get through to someone on the English speaking helpline, they should be able to help you sort out most things. I suggest that you do some research on the FranceTeleco...

Re: Landline Telephone

Hi ihusker When we bought the house there was a landline installed in the property, but it was disconnected because the house had stood empty for a couple of years. I had no problem with the English speaking helpline setting up a Ligne Residence Secondaire. I completed the application using the Fran...

Secondhand furniture shops

by Steve • Fri 09 Jan 2009 23:32

Aside from www.troc.com and www.troc3000.com , are there any other second-hand furniture shops located in or close-by Creuse who have a website to peruse? We've found our local "Aladdin's Cave" in Boussac, just wanting to see what else is around. As in the UK for the bulk of the year, we need to be ...

Re: Landline Telephone

Hi We had our Ligne Residence Secondaire connected in July 2008 after speaking to a very helpful woman on the English-speaking helpline (number as above). When we arrived, FranceTelecom had already connected the line, although there was a fault, we then connected the same helpline again from the Mai...

Re: Bonfires

by Steve • Sun 07 Sep 2008 17:00

According to our friends in the village, bonfires are banned between April and September where we are; however, we've not needed to have a bonfire yet as we're tackling the interior works first before we disturb the lions, tigers and giraffes in our back garden! I would recommend you ask at the Mair...

Re: Can Anyone Help?

Try www.uksatellitehelp.co.uk for hints and tips and www.dishpointer.com for the actual positioning data for the location of the dish. We found it really helpful when we set up satellite dish last month. A compass is essential to work out the precise positioning. If you put in the address or village...
