Dave,

Thats mad but totally French !!

I have heard a few shock stories so its a good idea to keep this post near the top.

Tax is a real killer once you find someone to the work !!

Oil / heating current cost per litre

by Rivercottage • Thu 05 Aug 2010 13:10

Hi,

Will need to top up with oil when we are out shortly.

What's the price roughly at the moment per litre ??
Just want to get an idea of funds required etc so no need for a precise figure.

Regards
Richard

Re: New Route advice

by Rivercottage • Fri 23 Apr 2010 10:01

Helen,

Hi, many thanks for the update.
Correct about dogs in ferries not good, did it once never again !!
We have used Tesco vouchers for the last two years its great you get 4x the value against your crossing.
We normally get three crossings free just 30 euros for the woofer.

Hate ferries also have dogs and you must leave them alone.

I enjoy the drive, was just enquiring about the Tours route which we have now worked out is longer and more expensive.
I would only ever use the tunnel now its so Brillant and so easy.

Re: New Route advice

Hi, travel 4 hours from the north to the tunnel as I always take one of the dogs with me and feel the ferries are no good as you cant sit with them.

Then 7 hours via Rouen etc, did look at the Tours route but it was 85km longer and the tolls where double in price.
