Re: Brexit: Will you sell up before it is finalised?

Brill picture, in my 12 years in this neck of the woods Indre/Creuse border I have never seen them in the wild, although if the local Notaire M Jacquet in Aigurande catches sight of them he'll be out in a Japanese second with his twelve bore.........

Re: CLS Timber for studwork

If you google the phrase......Bricolage : Ferraillage de cloison en plaques de plâtre......a whole host of useful DIY videos appear featuring Ivan on youtube......I personally found these particularly useful in installing the French rail system of stud walling in my old pile of stones several years ...

Re: Pont Noir Directory

by Ceejays • Thu 09 Jan 2014 18:42

The directory did serve a purpose and for those new to this region of France was an entry level into the regional services on offer. I personally used it for translation services, fosse septique installation (which I still Require!!...a case of saving up my pennies)and new eateries including change ...

Re: The all New Pont Noir

by Ceejays • Wed 21 Aug 2013 20:02

I must admit every time I log onto this great site I find the opening page with the charolais cow gazing down a little disconcerting...this is purely personal as the property I own has a chemin running down the side of it and looking at the image it looks like the cow is up in my orchard looking dow...

New Satelite imagery on Autoroutes.fr

by Ceejays • Tue 06 Aug 2013 21:35

Not sure if this has already been mentioned but autoroutes.fr has undergone a makeover. When double checking my route to my old pile of stones I was delighted to see an updated image of my property resplendent with new roof (installed in 2010)

Re: Trench depth for a new water supply

by Ceejays • Thu 02 Aug 2012 13:21

Many thanks for all the much appreciated advice. As it turned out the water meter was installed in a large box in the ground which when I arrived in early June was a mini "piscine" as the meter was under half a meter of brown water. I followed on eventually with a 25M trench at a depth of 60cm, the ...

Trench depth for a new water supply

by Ceejays • Thu 05 Apr 2012 13:59

Although it has been a delight drawing water from my well(!!!)... for the renovations to my farmhouse I now eagerly await this summer a new water supply from the Syndicat Des Eaux De La Couarde. My question is this, how deep should the water supply trench be? The water meter will be at my property b...
