just looking at Eurotunnel. at the moment until 15th june they are offering a no questions asked refund and prices are good at the moment. We are going to book for july 6th
for 3 weeks and hope we can go then, if not we can rearrange or cancel and get refund so seems a good deal worth considering.

Re: The C word!

yes this is an unprecedented situation. I am lucky living in a small village so we can at least have a country walk daily with little chance of meeting anyone. It looks like I will now lose 20% of my salary, but will hopefully keep my job. was also planning on going to France for Easter, the local g...

just returned from our little house in Crozant last night. Nothing has seemed to change in the Creuse area and no one seems to be discussing the corona situation. However most of the Reataurant/bars are still closed for the winter and very few people are about. We did go to Cognac for a couple of da...

Creusebear, sorry for your failed boat trips from hotel du lac. The problem is the owner will only go if about 15-20 people turn up, although last year he had so many coaches booked all summer that you probably would have not got on as it was full !!! as you say you will get there in the end. Intere...

I presume he has pestered you as well, he bought us a drink on a couple of occasions but we then had to listen to his tall stories !!
But we had a good laugh about it all afterwards so it added to the Jouillet Plage experience .

Our little holiday home is just outside Crozant, so our nearest beach is Plage de Fougeres on lac de Chambon. This is the quiter side of the lake but does have a Bar/restaurant and a free hourly ferry to take you over to the busier side with watersports and water park. I am also a fan of Bourg d hem...

Re: Rick Stein's Secret France

you should buy the book then, that is full of recipes and very little about the actual france trip.
I was disappointed in the book for that reason !!

Agree those programmes do keep you going, waiting for the next trip and retirement, although a few years away unfortunately ! Was surprised Rick did not venture to the real forgotten france , but I guess he and his team don't know france as well as they think they do. Still back to Crozant for a wee...
