The racing circuit at Mas Du Clos?

by LeHobbit • Sat 22 Jul 2017 13:24

Hello everyone. We have been searching for a property in Creuse for nearly a year now and have recently moved into a rental property on the edge of south Creuse at Nedde in the Haute Vienne, so we can be closer to the area we want to be. Earlier this week we viewed an amazing isolated property south...

Re: What can you tell me about La Naute, near Champagnat?

by LeHobbit • Wed 10 May 2017 16:26

Hi. We live a few km away from Champagnat and have been to La Naute many times as well as other camp site/lakes such as L'etang de Chaux which is also close. These are not Martha's Farm or Glastonbury so forget hoards of travellers and riotous revels etc. La Naute has primarily foreign artists of (...

What can you tell me about La Naute, near Champagnat?

We have been property hunting in Creuse for many months now and are planning to move over from Charente and rent until we find our next project. I did another post about our frustrating search a few months ago and yes, our search is still frustrating!! We have been focussing on the Millevaches area ...

Have you seen this? http://www.transaxia-bourganeuf.fr/34369-Maison-sur-7960m-sans-voisin-hors-route-passante.html Very quiet, couple of acres, €82,500, scope to increase size of property. Hi Sally. Funnily enough we have been to see this place and it is in a lovely peaceful location. It is also a ...

Is this what you are looking for? https://www.leboncoin.fr/ventes_immobilieres/905464569.htm?ca=14_s Looks nice Joel Hi Joel. This place is above our budget unfortunately, although it does look quite nice. We would prefer to find a much cheaper place we can modernise/renovate to our own taste and s...

I do apologise, we appear to have bought the exact house you are looking for. Fortunately for us, we bought ours two years ago (and at a time when the pound was worth more than five bob and a pile of comics). It was on the market for €163,500 but our offer of €150,000 was accepted. We too had thoug...

Have you looked at the Combrailles region of the Puy de Dome just across the border from the Creuse? I can recommend the agency Auvergne-Immo based in Pionsat (http://www.auvergne-immo.com). It is run by a Dutch lady who speaks English. There are definitely properties with the amount of land you ar...

The agents I mentioned are certainly worth talking to - if you haven't already. I assume you know http://www.explorimmo.com or http://www.pap.fr - certainly useful to find agents and get an idea of prices in a region. I suspect at 150k you're pushing it - given the fairly specific nature of your se...

Are you sure what you want exists - or is budget the limiting factor? There are definitely houses with more than an hectare - or there were a year ago - but they will almost all be within a hamlet. Round here I would say the internet is only a starting point - I used Rightmove and a couple of Frenc...

Have you looked on this site ? Put in the post code of the area you are interested in to narrow down the search. Hi Rosemarie. Thank you for the link. I have however checked Leboincoin several times a day, everyday, for the last 7 months!! Loads of houses yes, but hardly any with land of more than ...

Struggling to find a place to buy in South Creuse?

by LeHobbit • Sun 19 Mar 2017 11:53

We are looking to move to the south Creuse and more specifically within the Parc Natural De Millevaches. We have been coming over to Creuse since late last spring and have viewed around 25 houses across the department. Admittedly not all of these have been in the south, but we have now decided this ...

Well we went to visit two properties, one just north of Malleret and one a few kilometres west of Saint Agnant Pres Crocq. Both properties had lots going for them but neither had enough land for our needs unfortunately. Also we wish to run a chambre d'hote, possibly gite and also yurt accomodation f...

Good to hear that no one has said to stay away from that part of the Creuse, due to issues with the base (noise, activity etc). We are definitely going to check out the property for sale as it is in a lovely spot, at the end of a track!

Thank you for all of your replies, very helpful. We have been coming over to Creuse since mid summer in 2016 and have viewed quite a few houses now. More recently we have narrowed our search down to the south of Creuse and the Millevaches area as we much prefer the landscape and countryside and also...

La Courtine military base?

by LeHobbit • Mon 06 Mar 2017 14:56

We almost found the right place for us near Saint Marc A Loubaud a couple of weeks ago, but we have decided against that particular property. We are possibly interested in see...

I thought I wanted somewhere more isolated too, as it is my neighbours are the life force of our little hamlet, have made us feel entirely welcome and have made our French living experience amazing. Some compromises might be worth making. Good luck! Hi Sally. We definitely want isolated! We plan to...

Still struggling with our search in Creuse for our next property. We have looked at around 25 properties now since we have been coming over to Creuse and Puy de Dome. We may have to compromise and go for a property in neighbouring Puy De Dome as we cannot spend forever looking for a place in Creuse,...

Property hunt in La Creuse

by LeHobbit • Fri 28 Oct 2016 09:23

We recently sold our renovated Charentaise Longere to British buyers and are now ready for the next phase of our life in France. We haven't settled in Charente since moving here in October 2014 as we find it too hot and dry for us and the landscape is a bit boring. We are currently in temporary acco...
